Who really planning this sports thing? I understand the intent but i certainly don't like it.
The campus is already starved for entertainment so somebody planned a basketball competition and a tennis competition. Nice idea! But why does it have to be at the sports hall?
WHY?
we can't run off a competition right on our tarmac?
the only people that may be disturbed are those Communication people. And they always liming anyway, so nothing new for them. The Law people i think writing exams, but the organisers could've arranged a reasonable time to do the competition.
how we plan on gettin the other students involved?
i know that the basketballers will have their people to follow them. No doubt about that!
but what about the people that would be inclined to look at the game just to relax or something? just to enjoy campus life, bring back some sort of life to this DEAD campus.
but NO! you'll plan a competition at the sports hall! and if i only find out that the planners had to pay to get the sports hall when we could've used the tarmac for free. I'll get ANGRY!, and you wouldn't like me when i'm angry
Take sense out of non sense please! we're trying to get the campus alive! not drain the lil money that we got!
-is nah me, is meh mouth
(Stewie)
How dare you eh??? the communication people dont lime, at least i dont... u know, u run your mouth ABOUT EVERY SHIT POSSIBLE. u r actually the limer up campus, damn timewaster...
ReplyDeleteU r just inconsiderate...
@ anon: well we wasting time together. as fast as i write my shit! you EAT IT! Who the cap fit let them wear it!
ReplyDeletei do believe that before any move can be made to host games on campus, classes would have to be considered... apart from the communications ppl and law, the education and humanities ppl and even gwlt and slt might be affected. they need to organise a proper sports day to facilitate such...
ReplyDeleteUgh, ug just sucks, mmaybe they need people like u to think for them. lol
on another note, OUCH for anonymous, good point stewie... ROTFL
ummm i love this blog and i'm really glad some ppl are taking the time to point out the university's flaws but i happen to be a student at the CCS and i can assure u we don't lime like the ppl at the benab or the ppl by the lil canteen thing at nat sci.
ReplyDeleteif u must knw, we at the CCS have to work twice as hard for an A thn the rest of u guys and it's thanks to thinking like this that they raised our grading scheme.
okay, for the people that have not noticed...UG's basketball ring is crap. the court is a half court. And 'the Court' doubles as a parking lot. so EVERYONE would be inconvenienced as it relates to parking if a game had to be held on campus. The sports hall is a free venue for such events that is why students dont need to pay in order to get there. This is the second consecutive basketball is being held at the sports hall since its only been two years that we have had a sports coordinator. Yal complaining bout the 'big boring campus' then when there are campus activities people complain and don't support. Talk about confused. smh Get your facts straight, stop being so parochial in your thinking!
ReplyDeleteAs to Irinia, no course on campus is 'easier' than another. Every course carries with it its own stresses and demands, its just that some are easier to cope with than others. You have to know your capacity. That messed up grading scheme for communication students would only be able to ensure that the journalists and communication professionals in circulation in Guyana can be up to a certain standard. You should be happy about this, not complain. if u got reason to complain, maybe you're not of quality and should consider changing your major. I wouldnt like to think this is the case though, you seem like a smart girl :)
Just my two cents (after a long bloody time too, I hope stolid happy!)
@nevaseecomefuhsee dont try that with me. you and i both know that those things could be fixed and used. UG got 2 of those rings and that's a full court. i might be lame but i know the game. on top of that, im sure the students wold understand if they have to park somewhere else for one day out of a decade for the sake of an activity. so come better than that
ReplyDeleteand why you had to be so harsh on Ms. {look lil smart but isn't} se only expressing her view.
btw if stolid aint take you on by now, try the hard to get role...it always works.
stewie...two games are played daily. that's from 1-4 every day. for the majority of a two week period. one day parking elsewhere is understandable but not for such a lengthy period. UG has a ring at the back at maintenance, there's one close to the education and humanities building and there;s the one on the court. none of these are good enough to use, especially the one on the court. hence the reason they are not used. Did you notice a bunch of them limers trying to put up the ring sometime in last week? its barely fit a friendly practice session muchless competition. i might be lame too but i know the game as well, ESPECIALLY the campus game. and i'm not harsh on irinia, i'm not picking on her or anything, dont want it to come across that way. i'm happy that she givin her opinion, we got a rep from CCS besides Prezzo thank god! as to stolid...no comment. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm assuming it's the same damn body that came up with the 'wise' idea of parking passes on campus. Okay, it's probably not the same body, but I had to find some way of raising that point. It is by far one of the many ridiculous ideas UG come up with. Just like the idea of scanning for metals upon gaining entry into the library. Now that is utter nonsense; now tell me which robber-man will think of going into the library to rob? *siighhh* UG never cease to amaze me. By the way how da rass can u submit blogs to this, apart from posting merely comments?
ReplyDelete@anon: you think this is a free for all eh? if you want to submit a blog email to guardieblog@gmail.com we'll review it and see if it fits the page. no need to be scared! send and we'll put it up.
ReplyDelete@nevaseecumfuhsee, dude, i am not trying get involved with u in any way at all. i was not complaining abt the way i am graded, i was merely pointing out to the author of this blog(who happens to be stewie and not u) tht wht he was saying abt ccs students liming is incorrect. if stewie doesnt have an issue with my comment i see no reason why u should. plz, i am not interested in any fighting matches with u. now thts my two cetns.
