NBCAM

This October marks the 25th anniversary of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM), so if you see a little more pink than usual this month, don't be alarmed. Each year, more than 192,000 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer, according to the Web site www.nbcam.org/disease. Breast cancer is the second leading cause of death in women. Therefore, it is important as a woman, (whether you have it your family history or not), you should ensure you conduct self-breast exams regularly, receive regular mammograms, and educate yourself about early diagnosis and possible treatment options.
So in recognition of the 25th National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, this October's focus is on education, awareness and empowerment, and Guardie joins in saluting the champions of this cause and supporting all women who have been cured, diagnosed, or will be diagnosed with the disease.
